Heraclia was seriously distressed by the fact that Asnoralda kept blaming him for killing Lais, and he tried to shoot himself but failed to do so. Then, he decided to run away with a bag full of jewelry and money, all of which were stolen from Asnoralda. A servant happened to see Heraclia stealing Asnoralda’s belongings, and locked Heraclia in the house so that he wouldn’t escape.

Heraclia, who realized that the door was locked, became angry and smashed a window to get out of the house. However, a piece of broken glass deeply cut his thigh and severely injured him. He tried to run away, but lost a significant amount of blood in the process and died as a result.

Meanwhile, a priest was visiting Sebastian to pray for him before the execution was carried out. Sebastian was later taken outside to a scaffold which was surrounded by a crowd of people. He stood on the scaffold, a thick noose swinging back and forth in front of him. He was about to put the noose around his neck when Hyfitt and Oheania rushed to the site. They raised the stolen diary high above their heads and shouted, “We have evidence here! Listen, everyone. It is written in this diary that Asnoralda was the one pulling strings behind all these cases!” It was Rocafuerte’s diary and could be the crucial evidence for the trial.

Asnoralda decided to run away, but no matter how far or how fast she would go, she kept seeing the ghost of Rocafuerte grinning in front of her. Meanwhile, the diary was handed to the judge, and it revealed that Asnoralda had been telling lies. This evidence was credible enough to abandon the case, and instead of Sebastian, Asnoralda was found guilty and was sentenced to be burned at the stake immediately. She was arrested, forced to change into prison garb and made to stand on the scaffold. One of the police officers walked towards her with a torch in his hand. He shouted, “I am going to kill you! Go to hell! I’ll burn you to death!”

Asnoralda realized that it was Rocafuerte’s voice, but the next moment, the fire instantly spread all over her clothes and she was screaming and tossing about in excruciating pain until she died. The crowd of people watched the execution but Sebastian didn’t know about it since he was in a cell, thinking about Soledad. He was talking to Soledad in his mind, “Soledad, I’m always with you wherever you are. You are not alone. What you have to do is to think of me.” Soledad in the police buggy was also thinking about Sebastian.

After a while, Sebastian and Soledad were at last proved of their innocence and Sebastian was released from custody. Oheania was waiting for him to come out, and she threw herself into Sebastian’s arms, calling him ‘daddy’. Sebastian held his daughter and smiled. Everyone was smiling, and each of them gave Sebastian a tight hug in turn. Sebastian offered them to come to his house at Rauzan. As Sebastian returned to his house with his friends and family, he changed into a suit and served drinks to his guests, sharing joy and happiness with everyone.

Soledad, who was away from the town, went to stay at her parent’s house. Soledad’s parents had already passed away so there was no one but Soledad in the house. She was all by herself, but her friends and family came over to the house the following day and they were all grateful for the reunion. Sebastian, who was the last person to enter the house, quietly walked towards Soledad from behind and whispered in her ear, “Did anybody ask about me?” Soledad immediately turned around to see Sebastian, and they held each other tightly and kissed for a long time.

From that moment, our family started to live a different life with real friends. The story of my father was handed down for generations as the story of Caballeros de Rauzan (the Gentleman at Rauzan). I learned from my parents that true love always brings you happiness in the end.
